During the Dec. 7 meeting of the Wetumpka City Council, the Order of Cimarron was given the blessing of the council to proceed with their 2021 event, scheduled for February 13.
The council asked that those participating in the 2021 event adhere to safety, and sanitary pandemic protocols and that be sure to sanitize the beads before they are thrown or wear gloves when handling them. Also we (and the council) ask that social distancing measures be taken as the OOC has extended the route to better aid in that.
With staging moving to Hohenburg Field, it lengthens the parade route which will now include a portion of West Wetumpka, along with winding through a part of downtown before ending at the Wetumpka Administration building.
